I‘ve spent most of my career working in some form of Neuro rehab, however I’m pretty sure most people don’t really know what rehab actually is.
I decided to do a bit of research to find out what people think about when they hear the word rehab. I got the answers I was expecting, I appreciate the honesty and understand why people associate rehab with drugs and alcohol, it’s all we see in the media.
Every 90 seconds someone in the UK sustains a head injury, we have a massive problem and a shortage of rehab beds. UKABIF
(UK Acquired Brain Injury Forum ) have been campaigning on this for years. If you click the link it will take to to the parliamentary debates.
UKABIF have a short film competition every year and this year the theme is the importance of rehab, so I thought I would do my video on the perception of rehab and why it is so wrong.
Check out my video here
it seems rehab really does have an image problem
